Who was Kalidasa?

Kalidasa was a Sanskrit dramatist who was known for his beauty which is why he was able to marry a princess. At the time of his marriage, he had little education and the princess was ashamed of this. “Dasa” means slave. “Kali” is an Indian goddess. So Kalidasa means slave of the goddess Kali.
