This is a fragment of King Lear’s daughters explaining their love for him. In this scene, we can see that Goneril and Regan appear that they love the king much more than Cordelia. But actually Cordelia is approved to be the one who truly respect and love her father.
Instead of expressing her love with her language, Cordelia chooses to be silent. Is this really a foolish deed? It could be. However, another possibility comes up to my mind. In this movie, Cordelia’s expression shows more sadness and angry than her desire to express love. This is so obvious so I don’t think that it is a mistake of the actress. And this inspires me of the deep thought of Cordelia. Would it be possible that she understands the real thoughts of her sisters that they are just so fake? The reason that she doesn’t reveal their hypocritical faces are she loves them so much just like she loves King Lear. Also, the reason could also be she knows that her father has already become a man who could only hear the good words. Her silence is not only about her love to her father, but also about her despair and disappointment after her seeing through how dirty humanity could be. So I think in this scene her silence is a sad part and also a place where the director wants to show some ironic things in this story.
There are several words that can be used to described the king. Arrogant, indifferent, selfish… Indeed, there are certain reasons that he appears to be like a person who is more cold-blooded than normal people. But more or less, there are many things alike in normal people with King Lear. The king is more like an individual whose personalities have been magnified.
Meanwhile, Edmund longed for money and power from his father. So he framed his brother and turned him into a madman. However, the fathers couldn’t tell the true love. This was pathetic that there were so few people who really loved them even though they were so powerful. Moreover, Gloucester even misunderstood Edgar, his truly loyal son who support him until he died.

This clip is with a combination languages of both English and Spanish, which will make the cartoon more in a Spanish style and be more helpful with the expression of Knightship spirit.
This scene shows a strong contrast between evil and kindness by comparing the behaviors between prisoners and Don Quixote. But it is neither pure evil nor pure kindness. Besides evil, there is a character of sophistry. Although the prisoners are under arrest, there is still no sign showing that they regret or feel guilty. If the prisoners have no guilty, will the punishment be effective? Or else, does the punishment worth it? Meanwhile, the kindness is not pure kindness too. Because it is actually something wrong. Don Quixote is insane, which makes all his behavior lack of logic.
But is logical behavior the right behavior? Is there really some clear definition between right and wrong? Maybe or maybe not. I can see through his words that he has totally different values with the world. So there is another interesting contrast between logical and insane world. We can see through some details in this cartoon that the director wants to highlight his own world. There is a horse in this cut. While Don Quixote is dashing towards the guards, the horse stops in the halfway and it chews the flower on the ground. Even his horse doesn’t care about Don Quixote’s ‘justice’. This is kind of pathetic because no one else except himself cares about what he wants. What he insists is Kightship which appears before the war. But after the war, no one cares about the spirit any more. Thus the world becomes more logical but uglier. Something’s missing. Something that created by love is gradually disappearing in that world. Don Quixote wants it back but it is impossible.
Maybe there is no pure right or pure wrong in the real world. Even the laws are changing over time. While one thing was bad thousands of years ago, it could be good now. So we have no idea what the bad things today will be like in the future.
