Hello everyone hope you had a good weekend. I just want to know is anybody still having trouble forming a question because it’s kind of hard for me right now. I know what I want to research and what my question is, but putting it in a nice simple format is mind boggling. Currently I am playing around with my first question should guns be illegal or not? and trying to put in a simple format.
Also the reason why I named this post research freezes because I am currently at a stop point on my research. There are so many scholarly articles on gun control. They have a variety of information to which is hard to choose from. Another problem is some of them are really long with great information, but at certain points it gets boring. I want solid and good information and not reading a long article hoping it might have facts for my paper.
Hi Rahad,
This issue of finding the research boring could be a few different things.
1) You may actually find the topic boring, or
2) You need to sift through the boring information to find what is relevant to you needs.
Relevant information can be found in boring articles. I have been reading a few documents by the Congressional Budget Office due to it’s nonpartisan nature. While these articles are full of information, they are a bit technical, lengthy, and can become quite tedious. In order to remedy the situation I broke down these longer articles into 4 or 5 page chunks, which are much more manageable. Try doing that but don’t dismiss a useful article due to it’s lengthiness.
I am a bit confused by the first part of your post. Are you having trouble wording your question or do you still not know what you would like to ask?
