When taking a stroll in Madison Square Park I realize that there are more than 100 monuments and memorials combined. Many different types of memorials range from just being a memorial on a bench to being a huge statue of an individual or a specific thing. For instance, one of the monuments that I was astounded by was the memorial that commemorated the veterans of the United States. The main component of the Eternal Light Flagstaff is that it is 125 feet tall and is made up of bronze and Milford pink granite. As I closely examined the memorial, this memorial arrived at its location following WW1. This monument reminds me of the monument I have seen near Bay Ridge that commemorates American veterans. The reason for the commemoration would be that individuals like us want to let the soldiers that serve this nation that we are grateful for the act of bravery they do to save our nation. The intended audience in this case would be the citizens of the United States. Look-wise, it looks like a candle, hence given the name eternal candle saying that they would never be forgotten. the memorial can be read for its elements in such that it is pathos and allows its viewer to connect emotionally. This memorial is a centerpiece of the entrance when entering the park. Since it was Veterans Day a couple of days ago there were flowers and signs spotted next to the statue and some individuals stopped by and saw the memorial. In my opinion, this statue is successful in its ability to pay tribute to the WW1 veterans in the sense that it has the ability to gather an audience and gain the attention of many.

I also found the memorials for the veterans meaningful.
