FINAL PROJECT

My goal at the beginning of the semester was to have more structure in my writing. For a while, I have been quite insecure about my writing being messy or all over the place. However, this semester I found myself growing out of that insecurity and becoming more confident in my writing. It helped me to format my writing in a separate document, then list my ideas, and things that I wanted to include and fit them in places that were suitable for them and made the best sense. Then, I elaborate further on the ideas while writing my final piece. Since doing this strategy I have felt that I had really shown improvement on my writing.

I am particularly most proud of my first piece of writing and it was equally my most difficult piece. I had to show vulnerability which usually I am uncomfortable with and highlight my internal struggles. I find it difficult to write about myself and I usually see myself as a “listener” not a talker/writer. I am also proud that I had found the courage to write about something vulnerable. I got over this challenge by looking back and realizing that this struggle made me into the person I am today.

To conclude, this class helped me immensely with my writing. Especially with the transition from high school to college. I find that in high school we aren’t allowed much creative freedom, I’m so used to writing either informational essays or argumentative essays, and usually, we don’t even get to choose our own topics, we have to choose a select few. So I love the opportunity I get to have in this class to write about anything really and find a way to relate it to the prompt.
