The film I chose to watch was the “These Women Were the Unsung Heros of the Black Panther Party”. I found this video to be interesting as women tend to be overshadowed in historical events by men when in reality, they were a crucial part of the party. It was really inspiring to see the impact they still have on our current society as authors, public speakers, and professors. I love how despite the fall of the party and the “improvement” in our society, all of the women continued to fight and speak out on the injustices our current systems uphold. Even though the video was short, I gained much more knowledge on the Black Panther Party and the core members of the organization.

I liked how you mentioned the overshadowing of women by men. History often over stipulates the role of men in general even though their were a ton of women who had an significant impact.
I picked this video too and I completely agree. The women mentioned throughout the video were leaders who had significant contributions to the BPP, and I’m glad that the video provides an opportunity to shed some light on these unsung heroes.
It’s definitely nice to see forgotten or underreported leaders unsung to leave behind a legacy that everyone benefits from today.
