Where am I from

Where am I from

I am from that shore of the vibrating dance,

from the sun and the foam.

I am from the morning mist, the avilanian lilies & Caribbean wind

I am from the slopes of steep Avila, home to the singing macaws, full of golden trees and blushing orchids

the desert, jungle, snow, and volcan

I am from your guayayo con sobado snack

and with skin tanned like a flower,

from Isabel

and Gabriela and Mejias

I am from the where happiness is born from the simplest things

And words are decrees

From arms that propels me to an infinite limit

and teaches me 48 rules

I am from Disney with my adventurous angels

Protectors of a bold bubble that left at dawn and migrated to raise

I’m from Santiago the lion, caraqueƱo

A year arepa with butter and guayano for December with hallaca & ponche

From the audacity of her dreams & the strength of her will

the wrinkles in under her eyes full of wisdom & lessons

and the fire of his ambitions with his truths of reality

I am from Caracas, Venezuela.
