ENG 2150 Eliot Esquivel – P.W.S.

I am a transfer student, so this is my first semester at Baruch therefore I have not completed the Baruch ENG 2100 course. However, in my previous school I had taken a creative writing course which was the most enjoyable English course I had taken in my educational career. Most of the written assignments I had to complete for school were essays with five-paragraph structure and the topics I had to write about were assigned and the process of writing these essays was always tedious to me. But when I took that creative writing class it felt like I had some freedom with writing because we wrote personal stories without many constraints and restrictions in our writing. I also enjoyed writing about interesting books that I have read in class and even interesting shows. I had to write an essay about the first episode of The Handmaids Tail for an English class and that was also enjoyable because it was different style of gathering information through a show instead of the usual book or online sources. I tend to struggle with organizing my writing because I feel like sometimes I either write too much or too little. I also struggle to get my thoughts on paper sometimes, so it feels like I go on tangents in my writing, but I also feel like I have decent analytical skills because I have many thoughts racing in my head. My goal for this class is to sharpen my writing abilities through my analytical skills and to be able to gather the most significant and relevant pieces of information for whatever I write about.
