Hi everyone! First of all, I just want to say thanks to all of you for being the most amusing class I’ve had in Baruch. This class made my semester! For whoever is still checking this page, I want to leave a link to my new WordPress account, which will hold all the writing I do in my journey to become an author. The page isn’t complete, and there’s a lot of kinks I need to work out, but you can enjoy what is there so far.
Other than that, I hope we can keep up the momentum we had in the class and continue to read each other’s work in some shape or form. Enjoy!

Here are the instructions for presentations, taken from the Unit 3 Assignment sheet found on the Assignments page of our class blog:
For your final project presentation, please plan to use 10-15 minutes to do the following:
- Introduce your final project: the intended design, purpose, and meaning (the message and/or effect you hope to get across)
- Read from one short passage that represents “the best of” and also showcases your intended design, purpose, and meaning.
- Solicit feedback from the class (ask specific questions or have specific concerns) that will help you understand the impact of your final work.
- Lead a productive discussion based on the above.
Please budget your time. Plan to go for at least 10 but no more than 15 minutes. I will have to cut you off after 15 minutes so we’re sure to have enough time for everyone’s presentations.
You may choose to talk a little about your entire body of work for this class this semester. But you should primarily discuss and plans and process for writing your Essay 3 draft and revision.

Comprehensive and caring peer review is part of your grade! Get in there and give your review group member’s some comments on their Essay 3 drafts.
I originally asked you to complete peer review by Sunday, 4/28. Do it by class time tomorrow, 5/1, and I will still give you credit for it.

For class this week, please read and be ready to workshop the final essays of:
Alee, Iordan, Darius and Hutch.
We’ll begin the workshop with Nakeisha’s draft, which you read for last week.
And we have our final presentation of the semester by Amzad on vivid writing.
See you in class on Wednesday–or before, if your conference is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

Please remember to post comments and helpful suggestions on your editing group members’ Essay 3 drafts.
And continue to work on revising and refining your own drafts–you have less than three weeks to make them the exceptional capstone essays they aspire to be. Take some risks; try out some new approaches; show your work to friends and family; get feedback; write, rewrite, and write some more. Have fun. Go crazy. Have a lolly. Write a little more.
Thanks.

For the in-class workshop tomorrow, please read the Essay 3 drafts by Amzad, Andrea, Nakeisha, and Jessica. Please come to class ready to discuss them–take note of what you especially like in these drafts and bring your suggestions!
We might not get through all of these drafts, but we’ll do our best to cover them all. We’ll look at 4-6 more drafts in the following class on 5/1: stay tuned for announcements.
