The Brainstorming and search:

The hardest part about creating a meme for me is thinking of the text for the picture.

I started by thinking of possible meme scenario, as a student, something that I can relate to.

I was first thinking how before in school students would sleep and pass notes during class to fight boredom but now it has changed to playing on their phones, texting, and/or playing with their  laptops if permitted.

Before starting anything, I needed to find out how to insert text into a picture, so I googled, “how to insert text for a meme” and found http://wigflip.com/roflbot/.  After, I searched for pictures by  googling “student classroom sleeping,” “student texting,” “student studying classroom,” and other combination of words to find the image closest to the one I imagined.

I found the “reality” one inspiring and decided to do the reality and expectation meme.

I then remembered the “expectation” one and thought they would work well together.

Then I found that there is probably a step that is missing,

which is the fact that what we see at times can be far from reality.

I was thinking about what to name “what we see” to fit into reality vs expection,

came up with 20/20 vision.

The Mechanics:

The website http://wigflip.com/roflbot/ allows me to either enter the url of the image or upload my own image:

Then you can insert text onto the image that allows you to move it around and change the size and type of font

I inserted the three pictures of along with the text and downloaded it on my laptop.

Then I went onto my blog and and started inserting the image using the icon in the top right corner and

sourced each image by adding the url in the caption.

One Response to Expectation vs. 20/20 vision vs. Reality

Why thank you. I take it as a privilege to be the first to comment on your blog post. As far as creating a meme or lolcat, your picture combinations appear to be the most thought provoking! Congratulations on being original about the images you used. In the first image, the pressure of expectation on the youth can wear down even the best of intentions as a number of students demonstrate. These students were diligently trying to live up to the standards portrayed in the second image. The third picture is intuitively purposeful, yet underhandedly funny. Between the piles of paperwork, the book and the young man’s glasses- anyone in the room, including the other male standing to the left, would think that this student was focused on studying. But the truth is sometimes a funny thing.
