“Good Things Should Never End”
Company: Orange
Orange is a phone company with a pay as you go plan that comes with unlimited text messaging. They are promoting their unlimited text messaging with this never ending website.
This never ending website is full of fun little interactive items. You can make things grow out of pots, chat with a furry beast, watch dancing monkeys, make ice cream, draw, learn German, learn Spanish, play word games, etc. You can just click around on objects and see what happens. Turn the volume up and you can also hear some interesting sounds. This website contains many interactive parts. You will find new things as you scroll down the page and the page will never end. However, at a certain point, you will start to notice things becoming repetitive.
Everything catches my attention (the colors, the sounds, and interesting shapes). I become curious and start clicking on every object I see, hoping something cool will happen. The only thing that starts to bore me is when I start seeing the same things I saw a couple of minutes ago. I wish they would have made more interactive items.
How long did you scroll for before you gave up trying to find out if the website really never ends?
This website really caught my attention. Firstly the fact that the background was orange to reinforce the name of the company was a really good marketing ploy on the creater’s behalf. The fact that there were so many different things to do actually kept me on the website (wasting precious study time no less) for a very long time trying any and every thing to see what they all did. I also liked the fact that you can share the things you found on the website on myspace, facebook and through email.
Some of the items were a little hard to use for instance the “Make your own music” bit. And also as Jennifer mentioned it did become a bit monotonous as time went by as they did start to repeat some of the things I saw before. And I did actually try to scroll down to the end but it never came! What a trip!
The first thing on the site I saw as I clicked on was the loading screen, with bees flying around. I thought that was really cute. I also liked the overall colors because they’re very bright and eye catching. The curly rainbow stood out guided as a path. The images and characters are simple yet interesting to look at. To me it feels like watching a short movie clip as I scroll down the site. But I have to agree that it does get a little tiring after seeing the repetitive characters. I actually tried scrolling down hoping that I would reach the end but that never happened. I gave up after scrolling for 2 minutes nonstop.
