Chapter exercises, due March 20

From either textbook, complete Chapter 6 (Text), and the following five exercises:

  • CS4 book, Your Turn p. 265-272 (3 exercises) and Your Turn p. 295-298 (2 exercises)
  • CS3 book, Your Turn p. 248-255 (3 exercises) and Your Turn p. 275-280 (2 exercises); see this post for required fixes to the last exercise.

Everyone must also complete Chapter 8 (Animation 2) from the CS4 textbook, and the following five exercises:

  • Built-in eases p. 373, Multiple eases p. 378, Property keyframes p. 378, Manipulating motion paths p. 382, Your turn p. 409
  • NOTE that in Chapter 8 p. 402 step 13 the script is incorrect. The text says, “ik.limitByIteration = false;” when it should read, “ik.limitByIteration = true;”
  • AND, if you do not have the CS4 textbook, you need to send me an email to get this chapter.

  1. Hi Professor Sheehan,

I’m a little confused about the homework. You said to be warned about page 402 and incorrect script however that section (“Applying Joint Translation”) is not apart of the homework you listed.

    Any clarification is appreciated. =)

  2. Well now, just because you don’t need to turn in that exercise doesn’t mean you shouldn’t attempt the exercise, to gain familiarity with the technique.

Isn’t the idea to learn? So, under the assumption that everyone wants to learn, I’m letting you know about potential pitfalls that might otherwise frustrate your learning.

    Hope that clarifies!

  3. Thank you for the clarification Professor! I have every intention to attempt all exercises in the chapter, I just wanted to make sure that it was not accidentally left out of the required homework exercises for the benefit of my classmates. =)

    Thanks again Professor.
