Good and Bad Headers

Good Header: People.com has an amazing banner ad of the Apple iPod Touch. I love how it goes “outside the box” and uses both audio and visual to make this appealing. I want to buy an iPod touch just because this ad is so awesome!

Bad Header: Staying in the same genre of websites, Us Weekly’s site has such a plain looking banner ad on their website. It’s harder to even notice because it’s smaller and the lack of sound makes the ad less appealing to  me.

The Whole is the Sum of its Parts…

A great comparison here would be Lego’s; if you have one if you one Lego piece by itself it looks completely different from a group of Lego pieces together. After looking at the works of art in this exhibit, what resonated in my mind was that the whole was definitely the sum of its parts. Continue reading

Learn Genetics!

So I am surfing the web the other day and I find this website. It’s pretty interesting, to people that like science anyway, and teaches you about DNA and other genetics related stuff in flash. While its not the most exquisite use of flash, I like how it uses flash to teach science in a fun way.

An Awesome Digital Marketing Agency Website

So I was doing a bit of research as to where I want to pursue a career when I graduate and stumbled across this website. I am a marketing major, so an Ad Agency would be a great place to start my career. I found this company called 360i, which is a digital marketing firm that has done campaigns for companies like Marvel Comics, MTV, and NBC Universal. Their website has such a great use of flash and I think it is simply awesome. The concept of having a circle and being able to click on different parts of it really makes sense for a company called 360i since a circle has 360 degrees. Check out the site here.
