anime is an art form
Anime is an art form in every sense of the word. Anime has always been successful at expressing emotion through interesting use of color. In many well know anime movies such as Akira, the drawing and detail projects the feeling of the art. The way the lines move slightly against the shadow of the figure walking down the block expresses the feeling at that very moment. Continue reading
Project proposal
For my project I would like to do a online portfolio website. I am considering mixing flash with html but I am still exploring my options.
I will be using Flash, Indesign, Illustrator, and perhaps Dreamweaver. I will be redesigning my resume, and re designing the flash slideshow we did last time. I will also design a business card, and a logo to go with the site.
The page will be basic and have a bio, slideshow, contact info, and i guess quotes? Not sure its new to me so i will have to see some examples online…

For some reason the background stage is black and not white… Not sure what is wrong but other than that it is working fine.

Second Lives
I have already submitted my essay on time but I was not aware that we had to copy and paste it on this blog, so I am doing it now. sorry for the delay.
I arrived at the Second Lives exhibit with one question in mind: “What is the relationship between the part and the whole”. After seeing some of the artwork, I learned that the part is intrinsic to the whole to make the piece exists as it is. In other words, the part and the whole both go hand in hand in order to create the desired outcome for the artist. Continue reading
Bad and Good example of Flash
Bad example: http://www.brillpublications.com/
Good example: Http://www.mtv.com
Brill Publications is horrible and bland, and the focus of the flash is out of place. There is a video that plays in the begining and you hardly notice it because of everything else that is going on in the website.
The MTV website I feel was an excellent use of flash because the site itself is very loud, and the flash banner streamlines the viewers attention to what is most important, which is the breaking news, etc.

Joost – Teaching you how to watch TV on the web
In today’s world sitting down in front of a television four hours while munching on food is not an ideal way to spend ones time. This website teaches you a new way of viewing television — on the web! Joost has a database of many mainstream television shows, but what I appreciate more is their vast collection of rare and informative documentaries, that range from the land of Egpy to the history of Jazz music.
The website uses flash technology to creatively make use of the browser space, since it isn’t really like viewing a television screen. I like that there is freedom in watching Joost, because you can pause and continue to finish that hard project due @ computer animation class this week, while catching up on that episode of the Real Housewives (not).
I encourage you guys to check out the site, and learn how you can experience TV in another format.
Duggal
I chose this website because it is very interactive but clean. The company Duggal is actually located on 23rd street on your way btwn 5th and 6th ave. I have always admired their work and images, but when I visited the site I appreciated how clean but informative their site was. If you take a look at the site notice how their images an gallery become a part of the background. I thought this was a very creative way to present the style of the company, while creatively using the space they had to work with.
My only issue with this otherwise perfect website is the color scheme when you click for information. Some sections present a light grey background which clashes with the background and the images. But other than that it is perfect.
