environmental portraits

Victoria Cheng is her name. She believes that inner beauty is of great significance but, first impressions are like the cherry on top. Make up and fashion completes the look. She’s been into the industry for a while now. Earlier last year she enrolled to courses at Fashion Institute of Technology to learn more about fabrics, how to sew, and all the specs to completing an article of clothing. And just a few weeks ago, she got accepted to intern at PR Consulting which works with clients such as Vera Wang, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, and many more. The concept I’d like to show in this environmental portrait project is “From Nothing to Something.”

Her character as a fashionista really comes through in all the photos. The scenes are well depicted. I especially like the last photo because we get close to her and yet there’s both information and a lot of depth in the background. The only problem is her facial expression doesn’t change even though the scenes change. She has a rather glum look on her face even though she’s engaged in a favorite activity. Perhaps she was self-conscious before the camera. So you just have to keep at it so she can relax and we can get to see some emotion or expression in her face.

I really like how clearly the message was stated. I especially like the last two because they really communicate her in her element and she seems to be very much into what she is doing.

I like how you caught her expressions especially when she was putting on the make up and looking through the rack.
