This was one of my favorites. I really liked the fact that they had matching outfits. Even without the father helping his son button his shirt or brushing his teeth, I am able to tell there’s a deep relationship there.
My favorite shots though, are the first and second one, where they are holding hands and the father helping his son shower. It really portrays the idea of a single dad considering these are often moments of a mother and their child.
These are both strong and intimate shots, moments are beautifully observed. The photos go beyond the tasks that are pictured but reveal a deep relationship. Evelyn carefully observed that father and son are dressed in identical outfits, another sign of the father’s caring to have picked them out.
The detailed photo of one hand in another is lovely but should come later. Give the viewer a chance to see the relationship develop. Don’t state it so bluntly at the beginning with that as the opening shot.
You say they are getting ready for church so we need to see them on their way, out the door or at the church. Also the shots are all in tight spaces, let’s have a little more breathing room in some of the photos. It can show the father and son close-up but with more of the setting behind them visible.
The very first photo is the strongest photo! A depiction of a deep and well bonded tie in between father and son. However, I would suggest to have that photo as the closing photo instead.
For the beginning photo, I think that the one where the father helping the child to button-up will served as an opening photo very well. Just like story-telling where it shows the fatherly love and next with all the other details of their relationship such as showering the child, brushing teeth, and enjoying the ‘relaxation’ time together. Last but not least, the story is ended with the strongest photo to leave a deep impression for the audience.
The moments and expressions you have captured are commendable while the sequencing works well from beginning to end. It really shows how they spend their entire day together. I especially liked the photo “You’re mean to me” and how the next picture was a detailed shot of the two holding hands.
The photo with father and son holding hand is very strong photo. I got a sense that they are really bonded. I really like it.

I look froward to seeing more.
