McLuhan indirectly says that Media in some form or shape has an effect on you, your family, your neighborhood, your education, your job, your government and “the others.”
Of these, I personally found the one of education to be most intriguing.
How  has media been such an influence on the “traditional” educational norms?
Media,at this point in time, does not allow a child to be a part of a discipline like traditional education once did. For instance, at one point,  traditional education had an organized structure which did not allow a child to learn something beyond that which society thought necessary through books, professors and the influence of their parents .
With media, this idea has been contradicted so much so that it has a positive as well as a negative impact. Positively, media has made children curios about broader subjects and made them more of “free thinkers.”
Negatively, media influences children into thinking that authority does not necessarily need to be a part of what decisions they make or do not make. But while children are under such influences, they begin to question, beyond reason, the idea of a classroom set up.
In my opinion, media has contributed to how we educate ourselves and the generations below us. There seems to be less of a conventional structure, we are no longer  victims of a narrow robotic behavior. We do not just go with the flow, but rather question why we should go with the flow. If we utilize the methods of media to our advantage, there becomes less of an affiliation toward just conforming, which is what traditional education teaches us. The media does hypnotize people and give them an idea of where they should direct their thoughts and notions.
However, it teaches them more than what a  traditional education with just books would.
