Please make sure to change your passwords every three months and keep your account secure by not letting other people know your credentials. Identity theft is a huge problem for gamers since lots of children and adults will get lured into a virus website by mistake. According to Manuel Castells, “An Introduction to the Information Age”, information will always be collected in the network and stored forever. One characteristic of a network society is the informational economy. The informational economy includes gathering data from users in order to make money off it. Many people use the internet and leave traces of what they like to see and do online. They can click on an Amazon link to buy a television and when they are back on Facebook, they encounter with the same television asking if they want to come back to check it out of the shopping cart. That is stalking to the next level! The more data the companies collect, they may use it against you and can sell your data. With so much information floating around the internet, some hackers may even be able to hack into your bank account and take all your money. Try to stay safe and continue to do what you like on the internet with precaution.
