Final Artist statement .
AS AN ARTIST I AM STILL LEARNING NEW TECHNIQUES TO EXPRESS MY WORK TO ITS BEST ABILITY. WHETHER THE TECHNIQUE INVOLVES LEARNING A NOVEL PROGRAM OR USING A NEW TOOL. MY WORK INCORPORATES MY INNERMOST THOUGHTS–DISPLAYED BY THE PIECE AS AN WHOLE OR BY EACH INDIVIDUAL COLOR OR STROKE. WHAT I CONSIDER MY ARTWORK RANGES FROM THE MANY DOODLINGS ON LOOSELEAF TO THE LAYERING IN PHOTOSHOP.
GROWING UP, I ALWAYS EMBRACED INDIVIDUALITY. BEING THE ODD ONE IN MY COMMUNITY- I DIDN’T EVEN HAVE A BIRTHDAY EVERY YEAR. IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, WHILE MY PEERS CIRCLED THEIR BIRTHDAYS ON PLANNERS, I MADE A SEPARATE BOX FOR FEBRUARY 29. SO FAR- ONLY HAVING FOUR BIRTHDAYS TRULY DOES TRANSLATE TO MY BEHAVIOR AND WORK. MY PIECES strongly embrace my emotions ( emotional roller coaster) and my passion the piece evoked from. I understand that art is a form of expression, however I would like to create pieces that i personally do not have strong emotions about, but my audience does and test my versatility in this fairly new chapter in my life. Decided to leave my words short just like my stature.

My pieces embrace my innocence and preadolescence by barely hitting any level of sophistication expected in New York City standards. Although, my work conveys movement all around, my central ideas are fixated to certain moment in time. As a creator of various mediums of art I want my pieces to be bold, but also reflect my childlike qualities. In the past I leaned toward darker tones, however as my pieces progress I plan on working with a whole spectrum of color palettes.
Everyday I am growing as a person and as an artist. Thus, one minute I may want my piece to convey my childlike qualities– while the next minute I may change everything and decide to peek through the realities of growing up. Nothing is ever set and stone with this artist. Ever.
