Peter Gregory, Instructor, Department of Mathematics

Gregory won a 2011 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Mathematics Instruction. The award recognizes faculty who have implemented an outstanding instructional method for teaching math that has been shown not only to impact student learning positively but to have widespread potential.

Gail Levin, CUNY Distinguished Professor of Art

Levin’s new biography, Lee Krasner (William Morrow/HarperCollins), is the first full-length account of the life of the Abstract Expressionist painter best known as the wife of Jackson Pollock. Levin’s book has garnered early critical praise from such diverse publications as Publishers Weekly and O, The Oprah Magazine.

Susan Locke, Professor of Psychology

Locke was honored in 2011 with the creation of the Susan A. Locke Award. The student award recognizes Locke’s years of commitment to the Honors Program and will be given annually to a Baruch, Macaulay, or Provost Scholar. A member of the faculty since 1971, Locke has been affiliated with the Honors Program since 1978.

Terrence F. Martell, Saxe Distinguished Professor of Finance and Director, Weissman Center for International Business

Martell was honored at the College’s annual gala fundraiser, the Bernard Baruch Dinner, on Apr. 27. He is the first faculty member to be so honored in the dinner’s 22-year history.

Don Waisanen, Assistant Professor of Public Affairs

Waisanen recently co-authored “Sizing Up The Daily Show: Audience Perceptions of Political Comedy Programming” for the Atlantic Journal of Communication and has a new article on the Onion News Network coming out in Communication Quarterly. Waisanen, whose background is in the performing arts (he’s an actor and comedian), also contributes to the blog Thick Culture.

Ramona K. Zachary, Academic Director of the Lawrence N. Field Programs in Entrepreneurship; Peter S. Jonas Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship

Zachary co-edited the first issue of Entrepreneurship Research Journal (ERJ), a new publication that encourages a scholarly exchange among researchers in any field of study who focus on entrepreneurs.
