Chicken and Rice Stand on 25th Street

It seems like everyone is going “healthy” and what not, but with all the stress caused from school work, a nice greasy “not so healthy” meal is much needed here and there. My personal favorite is Chicken and Rice with extra bbq and hot sauce from the 25th street stand. I must warn you, it does make you feel pretty disgusting afterwards, but its so worth it haha.

Price: $5 for chicken over rice, Water and sodas are $1

Moe’s South Western Grill

I just went to Moe’s on 3rd ave and I think it was 27th street. Not bad, not bad at all. The food is delicious, looks fresh, an is overall pretty healthy. As I was walking out after my meal I found out that they offer Baruch students a discount if you show your  Baruch I.D (which I did not know to :/ ), and they also have a special deal every Monday on Burrito Meals. Overall a chill environment, however, I feel like they are under-staffed and took a bit too long to take care of their customers; it actually got to the point where one guy looked at his watch and walked out after waiting on line for a while. Anyway, check them out and shoot me a comment on what you all think. …. Oh I forgot, every meal comes with tortilla chips and a side of guacamole!

Salads from School Cafe

Alright, I have been trying to eat clean lately, and bringing healthy food from my house got kind of annoying. With efforts in finding some healthy food around the school, I ended up putting some grilled chicken and beans in a bowl by the salad bar. Some how, some way, this came out to $8. I felt bad saying anything, paid for it, left and after finishing my eight dollar chicken cutlet, was still hungry and ended up buying dollar pizza to fill me up. Anyway, long story short, stay away from the school cafe’s salad bar, its not worth it. If anyone knows of any spots around school where I can get a few pieces of grilled chicken for under $5, please comment on my post or make a post under the “Healthy Foods” category. Thanks!

Coffee Cart Guy on Across From Library

I love my coffee. What I love even more is having it being handed to me with a smile. It’s a good way to start the day, positive energy. The coffee cart guy ( I think his name is Alex) on 25th street across the street from the library is super friendly. He charges average prices ($1 small coffee, $1.25 med. etc) but he is always in a good mood, always has something good to say. If you don’t have any cash on you, he tells you to not worry about it and pay him tomorrow, or whenever you have the money. The only con about this guy is that since he is running his cart by himself, the wait on the line can be a bit annoying, especially when you need your coffee and your already late to class.coffee cart baruch

Red Bull from the Dollar Pizza Spot

I know i know, red bull is bad for you, but it honestly seems to be the only caffeinated drink that allows me to really focus on my work for long periods of time. Even though its a bit pricier than a small cup of coffee, I find it to really be worth the extra dollar. You’re probably saying “you mean the extra dollar-fifty?”. Nope, the dollar pizza spot on Lexington between 22nd and 23rd street has Red Bull for $2.00. 😉  red bull spot

Share Your Lunch, Without Having To!

What-to-Eat

Here at the Baruch Eating and Drinking Guide, also known as BEDG (pronounced bed-jee), we welcome all Baruch students to share what they are eating and drinking, where they got it from, how much they paid and much more. As a student you can post about the annoying guy behind the counter as the Gramercy Grill, mention how polite the coffee cart guy was this morning, even give your fellow Baruch Students a heads up on how long the line is at the Halal Stand in front of the VC.

So start posting, lets help each other out. No more roaming around the area trying to find good quality food for a good price, or looking for the coffee cart with the best jelly donut. Let your fellow classmates know what you are eating and what you think of it, that way, you can share your lunch, without having to!
