I want to look into the start of widespread medical marijuana treatment replacing painkillers. The two topics are ones that are very relevant to today’s problems with the opioid epidemic and the pioneership in the medical marijuana industry. I want to look at the transformation from opioids to medical marijuana form the health benefits. Since the spectrum of benefits in marijuana is believed to be extensive I want to really narrow down the scope to where we see a solution to a problem. Outside of the problem seems simple as to replacing prescriptions with marijuana but, underneath that laws and media of all kinds has a big part in the way the public accepts these new options. Looking at how marijuana advertising looks against the widespread opioid and big pharma designs and scope. Looking at something like the medical marijuana ad that was supposed to play during the Superbowl but was canceled by the channel. Other news of new states and countries legalizing medical marijuana use adds to the public’s view on marijuana. With statistics pointing to a more positive perception of marijuana by the public and constant news stories highlighting the “epidemic” of opioids. Learning if marijuana legalization is a way to fight the opioid epidemic is not just a quasi-belief of replacing pills to lower organ damage caused by the chemicals. I want to find ways that marijuana legalization is being stopped and how big pharma is keeping its grip on the public. How the process starts and how do most addicts turn out compared to treatment with marijuana.

Very interesting topic. I like how you zoomed in onto Marijuana specifically I think it will be very helpful in your finding specific date and research.
Hi Adam! I think it’s a good start that you are narrowing down which substance you want to specifically focus on. Although this draft doesn’t have much research and I think it’s a great place to start and have all your ideas written down so that you can expand on your thoughts.
