Biking is a great form of excercise, recreation and transportation. Biking is popular among many students, including the students at Baruch. Many Baruch students enjoy biking on their free time to relax and bike through the five boroughs. Baruch students bike to be fit as well as have fun. Biking is an excellent form of cardio and is a quick and easy way to get out and sweat a little. Biking also serves as a form of transportation for students who need to get to semi-far places. Many students have taken advantage of the citi bikes outside the vertical campus as the bikes serve as an alternative than taking the train. Biking is something fun that more Baruch students can join in on.

An Electric Bicycle With Turbo Speeds

specialized-turbo-1-blog480

Daily commuters who have a need for speed can rejoice with the soon to be released Specialized Turbo electric bicycle. Specialized let journalists ride their new electric Turbo in Central Park the other day. They were able to experience the thrill of riding up to 32 miles per hour without any effort. The Turbo has an assist, which has a torque sensor that can pick up pedal output, that will match pedal pushing with an amount of power up to 28 miles per hour. Turbo bikers can go fast without even breaking a sweat unlike other cyclists. There are seven normal bicycle speeds and four different electric assist modes to choose from, which can be selected through a switch on the handlebar. If a biker wants less assistance and more exercise, he can drop the power assist percentage. There is even a regeneration mode and eco mode which will automatically charge the battery when the battery is at 20 percent charge or less. This 50 pound speed demon includes a 5-pound battery and 14-pound rear wheel, which isn’t heavy at all when carried properly. The battery and rear wheel can be removed to drop the total weight to 31 pounds if required. The sleek and stylish Turbo is perfect for a commuters who want to get to their destinations quick and easy. The only drawback is the hefty $5900 price tag.
