“Aqueous Transmission” by Incubus (Billy Schweky)

Incubus is an American rock band from Calabasas, California. Lead vocalist Brandon Boyd formed the group in 1991 along with guitarist Mike Eiziger and drummer Jose Pasillas. Over the course of their career, Incubus has utilized elements from a variety of genres and styles. Overall they would fall into the category of an alternative rock band. The song “Aqueous Transmission” is unlike any other of their songs in which it has a tranquil yet exotic tone to it. It works well as a soothing background song that expresses the band’s success in their experimenting with their use of Chinese instruments such as the Pipa along with a Japanese orchestra for accompaniment. “Aqueous Transmission” is 7 minutes and 46 seconds long, with the last minute consisting of frogs croaking outside the studio in Malibu. Lead vocalist Brandon Boyd says that the purpose of the song was to make “the listener pee in his/her pants” from relaxation. This song is one of my all time favorites so sit back, relax and enjoy the youtube video.
