How to make 3D Models…

I decided to create a video tutorial that will demonstrate how to make 3D models… Using the principles shown in those videos you can pretty much design and model anything you can image…

Also, i created a flash app which has descriptions for all the tools that are needed to create basic or advanced 3D models… When you hover over the icon of the tool, the info will appear below… Enjoy…

Here are the videos…

  • Part 1 – Stored on my gDocs accounts…Too long for youTube

  1. This is very good. I’m glad you chose to do a video. In order to make your tutorial most useful, consider finding a way to embed your video. Though YouTube limits you to 10 min only, there are other services that will allow you to post videos that are considerably longer. Try Vimeo or blip.tv.

If you have an issue with Blogs@Baruch, please contact the administrators through the proper channels to ensure that your concerns are heard. You can contact the site admins here: http://blogs.baruch.cuny.edu/contact/

  2. The embedding thing is a problem in this distro because it doesn’t recognize the tags used for embedding content…
Vimeo does allow for longer videos but they compress videos so that the file doesn’t weigh too much… I tried that and its not the best way to do it… I’m gonna try out the blip.tv approach…
The first approach i took was to just upload the videos to my B@B account and then embed them into the post… well i spent 2-3 hours trying to figure out what the hell is going on… Finally it got to me that WordPress itself shields people from the code and then any kind of major change to the code must be done using plugins… Well, at B@B we cant install plugins…
So there you have it… Its really good content and no one will appreciate it… I actually was considering migrating all of my posts to a completely custom blog that i would install on some free hosting website… and then just do whatever i want… but i just don’t have the time for that…

  3. Vitaly:

I think it’s best to leave unfiltered html functionality off on your site.

I’ve embedded the swf animation for you here, and have also verified that embeds from Vimeo function correctly. When you are ready to post another SWF, just let me know and I will embed it for you. If you have any other questions, let me know.
