Jost Van Dyke: Foxy’s New Years’ Eve Party

When it comes to the most festive time of the year, there’s nowhere else better to be than Foxy’s Bar in Jost Van Dyke. Located in Great Harbour, Foxy’s was created in 1968 by Philicianno “Foxy” Callwood to make sailors feel welcomed when they came to ‘his island.’ Foxy is the epitome of Jost Van Dyke; he can make you feel as if you’re relaxed and happy at home with his songs and stories about his younger life. His guitar playing skills (pictured below) are a part of the island’s culture.

Foxy’s is best known for its New Years’ Eve Party, where people come from all over the world to drink, dance and have the best time of their lives meeting new people. Foxy has flags from all countries decorating the bar to show that people from all countries and cultures are welcome to his bar, as they are a part of his family.

Foxy’s also has a large part of their restaurant and bar with pictures of customers from their New Years’ Eve parties each year, some dating back to when Foxy’s was first opened. If you’re lucky to go there and get your pictured snapped, it might end up on the wall too! Foxy’s wife, Tessa, takes care of their apparel store, the Foxhole Boutique, where you can buy many local things and branded items. Visit their website at The Foxhole Boutique to see what they have to offer!
