“Everytime We Touch” by Cascada (Ryan Medina)

Cascada, a techno dance group, is actually comprised of three members, even though it seems as if only the girl, Natalie Horler, is the solo singer. Manuel Reuter and Yann Peifer are in the group also, and all are from Germany. All have worked with and have been influenced by other top DJ’s around the world such as DJ Sammy.
Although they are from Germany, their music has had a huge impact in America. Their first release, “Everytime We Touch” from their first album Everytime We Touch, rose to the number one spot in over three countries, including the United Stated and became the number one dance song in the U.S. in 2007. The song borrowed the chorus from Maggie Reilly’s song “Everytime We Touch” from 1992. The video shows Horler making the man more and more angry everytime she touches him or messes things up in the library, but eventually they end up leaving together.
The reason the song has had such a huge impact in our country is that it has been remixed by so many other DJ’s and started a techno revolution in a country where most techno music was underground and not really played on the radio. Now there are many more techno songs being released and radio stations that focus solely on dance music. It is now a staple for dance clubs all around the country and inspired music for a generation of what’s known now as guidos like people from the “Jersey Shore.” Cascada continues to release Billboard topping songs, all in the dance category.
