Change for Kids (CFK) partners with New York City public schools to empower underprivileged children by providing them with a broad range of innovative literacy, arts, and music programs. In October 2009, CFK partnered with the Baruch College Honors Program and its students to develop meaningful, in-depth volunteer opportunities. Specifically, volunteers will tutor children at various NYC public schools. Under the careful guidance of a school Literacy Specialist, Baruch volunteers will provide individualized literacy tutoring to help children build their vocabulary and become confident readers. This blog serves as a way for student volunteers to reflect on their experience as tutors. Feel free to browse and comment upon their posts, and witness how they are changing the world, one child at a time.
