Have You Ever Denied Yourself Of Becoming A Full-Time Professional Artist?

Many artists doubt themselves of not being good enough for the public and this low self-esteem doesn’t help in the art business world, you have to be confident when it is so hard to get into. It will never really matter if it’s a natural-born talent or if learned from time and practice.

I’ve narrowed it down to what I think are the top three cons, and pros of what it is to become a professional artist.

The Cons

Inconsistent Income!

The worst downside of becoming a professional artist would be the lack of income. Artists often struggle as what it is called “Starving Artist”. A lot of these artists start off creating art for the public as a hobby. They support themselves with a more stable job for general income because becoming a professional painter does not always cut it for them.

Limited Opportunities!

In a large pool of upcoming artists, the struggle can be hard and highly competitive for most out there especially when we have so many starving artists aiming for success. There is only a handful that gets lucky in making it big enough to support themselves with the sales of their own art.

Originality!

This is what artists often struggle with, originality. It conflicts with artists extremely and the consistent harsh criticism being thrown at them for their work strains stressful struggles for trying to become successful.

The Pros

YOU ARE YOUR OWN BOSS!

Where creativity on your own work has no limits. One of the main reasons why it is so great to be your own boss is getting to work in your own personal space and in a stress-free environment. The positive element that plays into the creation of your artworks comes from both stability and openness. The therapeutic environment that comes with being an artist plays a high role in why most creative artists are known to live a happier life compared to a busier career.

YOUR IMPACT!

What better way to have people see and understand your philosophies and views on life than to put them into your art. Have people see it, admire it, talk about it. Your work becoming highly appreciated is an extreme accomplishment for you to have others relate and look up to you. This is a constant motivation for elevating your success!

NO EXPERIENCE!

One of the best things about jobs that don’t require any experience is the waste of money some may think that college can be. Others may just not have the same opportunities as their peers, but for the art business, you do not need a degree whatsoever you just need your talent, yourself, and what you can bring differently to the table and create your own business.

Overall, we all know there will always be downsides to jobs as difficult as they may be but it should not stop you from your ambitions and your lifelong goals. Always strive for your desires, and CiaoArte encourages it highly to keep turning to our page for more art inspiration!
