Newsletter Spotlight: Benefit Concert to Support our Climate Research and Education
We are thrilled to announce the West Side Woodwind Quintet will perform a benefit concert to support our climate research and education at the Baruch Performing Arts Center on Thursday, April 18th at 7 pm. The performance will include Bizet’s Jeux d’Enfants, Ibert’s Trois Pieces Breves and Brahms’ Minuet from Serenade #1.
There are two ways to support climate research and education at Baruch and obtain tickets:
- You can make a generous donation to the Baruch Climate Action account within the Baruch College Fund using this link and receive two VIP seats to the concert. Please be sure to enter Sustainability-30510 on the last page of the donation website in the field that reads “I would like to designate this gift.” After donating, email Matt LePere at [email protected] to claim your VIP tickets.
- You can purchase tickets to the concert directly using this link. General admission tickets are $25, staff tickets are $15 and student tickets are $5.

Opportunity Spotlight

College to Climate Symposium
The College to Climate Symposium will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 11 am to 4 pm at the Boston University Center for Data and Computing Sciences, featuring workshops, prominent speakers, and networking opportunities. The event aims to engage 100 students from 10-15 local universities passionate about climate work, offering avenues for internships, co-ops, full-time positions, and involvement in sustainability initiatives, serving as a career launchpad in the field of climate action.

Bookkeeper Internship for Natural Areas Conservancy
The Natural Areas Conservancy (NAC) advocates for urban natural areas in New York City and nationwide through research, partnerships, and advocacy. NAC aims to enhance urban forest and wetland health, foster connections between people and nature, and strengthen the environmental workforce. They are looking for a part-time Bookkeeper responsible for accounting and financial duties to support the company’s fiduciary functions. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field, or equivalent education and work experience.

Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Climate & Health Hackathon
The Doctors Without Borders (DWB)/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Climate & Health Hackathon, taking place from April 13 to 16, invites student innovators in and around New York City to devise impactful communication campaigns addressing the climate emergency, with guidance from DWB/MSF staff. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with peers interested in global health and climate action, engage with humanitarian aid and climate change experts, learn practical skills in social campaign creation and implementation, and receive DWB/MSF-branded merchandise. This handbook includes information on the schedule, expectations, and an FAQ.

Clean Energy Leadership Institute 2024 Fellowship
CELI Fellows are dedicated professionals aiming to create a community focused on advancing equity, decarbonization, and resilience within the energy sector. The program targets early- to mid-career individuals with a minimum of 3 years of experience in clean energy or 5+ years in related fields, emphasizing diverse backgrounds including policy, business, technology, communications, grassroots organizing, entrepreneurship, and green jobs expertise. Fellows are expected to articulate their commitment to initiating and sustaining a career in the clean energy industry.
