Michael Walsh, PhD, met with the Fellows on two occasions. On September 28, 2011 Dr. Walsh gave a presentation on the topic of the Mechanics of the Carbon Exchange Market. The presentation focused on emissions trading and the purpose and mechanics of market-based mechanisms for reducing pollution. On September 29, 2011, he conducted an interactive Carbon Market Exchange Simulation with the Fellows. Through participating in this simulation, the Fellows learned how carbon is traded in the real world.

Additionally, Dr. Walsh played an integral part in finding candidates for the Spring, Summer, and Fall Climate Change Professional Fellows Programs.
