Henriette Rambitan

Ms. Rambitan holds a Ph.D. in Engineering, and a double Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. She is Program Coordinator at the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), an Indonesian NGO. At IESR, she is responsible for the coordination of all existing programs, particularly their Access to Energy Program, for which she develops research on renewable energy for rural areas. Her study contains a systems-thinking model, which indicates that rural energy sustainability requires socio-economic development. Additionally, Ms. Rambitan is the creator of a personal carbon footprint calculator, Kalkulator Jejak Karbon (literally translated as Footprint Calculator), which has been used to pursue IESR’s Personal Mitigation Campaign in Indonesia. She also conducts trainings as part of Personal Mitigation Campaign, in which she addresses basic climate change issues, and use of the carbon calculator.
