Morning – Facilitator, Stan Altman

Afternoon – Zen and the Art of Public Presentations

Overall objectives:

This series on public presentations will teach participants about organizing presentations and designing better visual aids with presentation software. By the end of the two sessions, students will have a better grasp of how to send their intended messages so that audiences receive them and both come to a shared meaning. Ultimately participants will learn techniques to breathe life into their presentations rather than experiencing death by packaged software.

The first session is designed to help participants learn basic principles of effective presentations using presentation software. In this session participants will:

  • Learn about the communication process
  • Reinforce the basic principles of public speaking
  • Learn best practices for using visual aids
