Mr. Hu is currently pursuing his MBA at the University of Texas. Previously, he worked as the Business Development Manager at Veolia Environment Service (VES) Company, a world leader in Environmental services and waste management solutions and for over 80 countries. His major responsibilities included the management of waste to energy and carbon emissions projects. This entailed investigating and analyzing on the Landfill, Waste to Energy, and Climate Change industries, initiating new projects, managing the projects of the Energy Conservation and Green House Gas (GHG) Emission Reduction in Chinese, and assisting enterprises in GHG emission reduction. Mr. Hu established a company, ESCO Low Energy Company, which was a joint venture between two Fortune 500 companies, Statoil and Elkem. He was the General Manager for the company. The company promoted micro Combined Heat and Power generators to reduce Carbon emissions. Mr. Hu was also the project and business manager for ZH Energy and Environmental Development Consulting Limited. He has extensive knowledge of Renewable Energy and Environmental issues in China, including landfill gas to energy and the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). He also holds a Master’s of Environmental Science from Northeast Agricultural University.
Statement of Intent
Mr. Hu is interested in the national and global implications of technology and policy for climate change. He hopes exchange views to enhance skills in environment treatment issues and learn about international development in management, technology and policy. He aims to share his experience with other participants, and gain relationships and skills which will help him to implement projects for improving the ecology and environment of China.
