Ms. Yuehua is a Master of Physical Geography Candidate at the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Science. Her research focuses on the impact of climate change, especially on glacial retreating. She uses methods such as 3S to simulate the glacial geomorphology to determine how much glaciers have retreated and predict future movements. She has participated in ITP/Tip Young Scientist Program, which is an important part of Sino-German Year of Research and Education. She also participated in the International Polar Field (IPY) School at the University Center in Svalbard, Norway, as the first Chinese student. She has traveled to many places, especially the Tibetan Plateau and the North Pole. She studies the sensitivity and the importance of the Tibetan Plateau and climate change and is interested in the effects of extreme weather in the eastern part of China.
Statement of Intent
Ms. Yuehua is interested in the impacts of climate change, environmental protections, especially on glacial retreating. She seeks to build mutually beneficial professional relationships with experts in other parts of the world.
