The NCAA is exploiting college football athletes by their failure to compensate them. One big issue that conflicts with the NCAA’s decision on not paying the athletes is the fact that they are profiting of their merchandise. So the NCAA is able to use the players names but without their consent and get away with it.

The athletes are under very strict restrictions when it comes to the business affairs they can engage in off the field. One being that they cannot sell their own jerseys. In 2010 members of the Ohio State University football team were suspended for selling their championship rings, awards, and jerseys. This is hypocritical of the NCAA as they are able to profit off these players without their consent but when do they it they receive harsh punishments.
