Do either of you have any readings you like about new technologies in the workplace. The Miller book has a good chapter on media use, but not much on new technologies. I have one that talks about the use of the internet for expressing dissent – i have them read part of it. Its got a great title too: Radioshacksucks.com. i’ll upload that later today, but something on blogs, etc. . .
Just curious – any advice?
Ok, I added my Spring, 2008 syllabus under ‘history,’ our brainstorming list under ‘course content’ and i added a page called ‘reading library’ where we can post pdfs, links, etc. specifically to options for class reading. I don’t know why:), but i felt like a separate page worked for that instead of under course content, but we can switch it later on if it doesn’t seem logical . . .
I ‘ll keep adding as we prep for next week.

I am now working on my syllabus and I wanted to put forward 2 assignments and questions to see if they are applicable to the fall 3068 course. Also I have not found Caryn’s syllabus nor philosophy statement. Perhaps it did not get uploaded…
The first assignment is the observation paper that I have used for COM3102. I often use it as a first draft to the final paper. Allowing students through an observation report to better understand and experience various real life elements that can then be traced and researched through empirical research; the final paper. I have posted it under Activities.
My other “assignment” is the final exam as I have a preference to take home exams, which I believe give the students a lot more time to read the book and to write more. It is a good deal more work for the professor but I believe it does have a stronger impact in the student’s learning. I am posting my final exam from last year under assignments as well.
Let me know what you think and give me any feedback in shaping this semester’s syllabus.

Pardon my hiatus from being on here – I have been traveling a bit and took a vacation last week:) lovely! But, the year will be upon us before we know it:)
So, I’ve added a copy of my old syllabus (needs much work but) and the list I generated from our early discussions about potential ‘unique’ topics for 3068.
I will get both the Baruch offical course description and start on the class philosophy this week.
I will also try to add some readings that may (or may not) be of interest.
