3D Printing Demo
Uncategorized September 26th, 2012First, I thank our professor who brought the 3D printing demo to our classroom. It was exciting seeing how laying down many layers created a dice in a couple of minutes.
Since, we are living in a technological world, I think the 3D printing demo will be the next big thing of the future. Many people could do their job easily like engineers, constructors and designers . Also, people at their home could fabricate their own stuffs and kids their own toys, which is the part I like. Probably, as a mother I could save some money while my son creates his own toys. However, I wonder how economy will be affected by people creating their own stuffs and kid their own toys rather than buying them from other people or companies.

I wonder how widespread desktop 3D printing will become and if it will have a noticeable effect on industrial manufacturing. I think it won’t have much an effect on manufacturing but maybe more so in other sectors. Being able to print text on paper at home didn’t really have an effect on book publishing, but it did on the kid of services, say, a Kinko’s offers.

I don’t think it will neither affect the economy nor any business related of products that we might use for prints. But in the other hand, it will benefit Makerbot manufacture headquarters, to recruit and employ people whom are without any job, by creating new positions of managers, accountants, engineers, designers, etc.

I agree with the statement “I wonder how widespread desktop 3D printing will become and if it will have a noticeable effect on industrial manufacturing. I think it won’t have much an effect on manufacturing but maybe more so in other sectors.”
It is more efficient to produce and assemble products than to print it so it will be long before anyone actually considers 3D printing as a mainstream means for manufacturing.
