The Lawrence N. The Graduate Certificate in Creativity & Innovation, developed by Baruch College faculty, will expose students to the tools to link creativity and innovation practices to start their own business or be a changemaker in any organization.
Through experiential activities, students will participate in activities applying the tools covered in each topic in a practical application and build a network of peers and others in the entrepreneurial community.
Problem Identification
The ability to recognize and create solutions for problems which arise during the entrepreneurial process, whether it be within business or work environments.
Understand and practice awareness of cognitive concepts pertaining to creative thinking such as cognitive blinders and biases. Understand and apply different thinking styles involving critical and creative thinking.
Learn how to empathize with others. Identify the problem through empathy and research.
Learn how to approach ill-structured problems. Learn how to make meaning from messy data.
Ideation
The capacity to apply higher- level, process-oriented thinking, consider an issue from a range of possible perspectives, and use that reasoning to make decisions.
Understand, evaluate and enhance your level of ideation/creativity. Demonstrate knowledge of frameworks and methods for idea generation, evaluation and selection.

Yes, with a Pass/Fail assessment. Faculty will assess the experiential activities at the end of each module and provide a pass or fail for the assignment(s).
No. All learning material will be provided to you digitally. Prototyping materials can be found in the home and will vary by student.
You will have access to your introduction modules and all available course content immediately after enrolling and paying. Once the first course officially begins, you’ll be able to ask questions from the teaching team, get feedback on your projects, and work on assignments.
