Educate Yourself on Domestic Violence
Relationship violence is a behavior used in intimate relationships that is maneuvered to gain control over the other through fear and intimidation. A lot of physical abuse is involved, and the victim usually feels isolated since there is no one to turn to.
The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence conducted a survey in 2010 and found that more than 1-in-3 women and 1-in-4 men in the U.S. are survivors of relationship violence in their lifetime. Sometimes victims of violence think they won’t find another, so they worry about what others would say, or they’re too afraid of what would happen if they end the relationship. A victim can be abused in many aspects, such as: physical abuse, sexual abuse, digital abuse, verbal abuse, emotional abuse, and psychological abuse.
Domestic violence should never be permissible, and if you believe someone is being abused you should try to aid them in their suffering.
