Contemporary Implications in World Literature

My name is Daria Cavalli and I am the author of this blog. I am a 20 year old sophomore at Baruch College, studying Marketing Management. Throughout my educational career I have always appreciated any type of Literature, English or Creative Writing class I have taken. Viewing these classes as an opportunity to express myself and expose my creative abilities, I was always able to flourish and thrive. The challenging nature of courses such as ENG 2850, force students to excavate the deeper and more complex meanings of texts that are read in class. I chose to write this blog with the focus of ‘contemporary reflections’ because I feel that the themes found in World Literature texts can be extended to a modern day society. Authors from centuries ago meant for their literary works to transcend time. My hopes for this blog is to take on an original, modern day approach to viewing World Literature.
