Someone once said…

Here are a collection of a few inspirational quotes I found by authors of texts we have read throughout the semester. Take a look! Some are extremely provocative.

“Usually a feeling of disappointment follows the book, because what I hoped to write is not what I actually accomplished. However, it becomes a motivation to write the next book.” – Anita Deasi

I really loved this quote because I feel that is shows the unrelenting ambition that Anita has that makes her so successful. Whatever you have passion for in life should be a constant motivator that never dies out. You can tell she has this passion in her writing.

“The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.” – John Keats

Keats speaks against  the beliefs of so many people today that are burdened by their close mindedness. The only way to grow as a culture and solve the problems in our society is to dare to do those things which have never been done before. Not to merely try and  improve the failed attempts of others. The dreams of innovators have the power to revolutionize our society.

” A writer can do nothing for men more necessary, satisfying, than just simply to reveal to them the infinite possibility of their own souls.”- Walt Whitman

I LOVE this quote! I think it is brilliant and so beautifully put. Whitman perfectly gages the aspiration every dedicated writer should have; the desire to open up their readers to a world different from their mundane, and hopefully change them for the better.

I love this page. You can always count on Whitman for the best quotes! I never heard that Desai one but it’s good for finals time.
