Hello. I am an undergraduate freshman at Baruch College, majoring in Biological Science to become a travel nurse. I chose this career path because I love to travel, learn about others, and help people in need. I also love to explore and test my limits. I tend to try new challenges to see what I am capable of due to my parents who originated from Ivory Coast and Guinea. Becoming fluent in Fulani meant understanding my parent’s history and the need for nurses. They weren’t able to pursue their education, I would be the first to go to college in the U.S. throughout my whole family, which is one of the reasons why I am going to college and why I challenge myself. Due to them sacrificing everything to give me a better life, becoming a travel nurse is a way where I can help others in need and is a where I can thank them for giving me a better life. I also want to earn my bachelor’s degree and be the first to graduate in my family and due to the importance of a degree. It’ll benefit me in ways like learning new skills or even strengthening my weaknesses and improving overall.
