ENG 2150 Writing Mimesis

For the purpose of this exercise, I chose to write about how working hard in the short term allows for long term comfort. I followed the method, but with slight variations to how long my writing windows were (I made them a little shorter). What I observed very quickly was that the section I wrote prior to quoting another essay was extremely loose in its writing. That is, not every sentence made a clear point. Sentences had to be read in the context of each other in order for the reader to conclude what I concluded. But after I hand-copied part of an argumentative essay, I became a lot more coherent and expository in my language. My purpose shifted from informing to straight logical arguments.
