Plato’s- Symposium form of love

Plato's- Symposium form of love

Hey everyone! So I found these two quotes that I really found interesting and very similar to the “Platos Symposium on his form of love” where everyone was attached at one point and then separated.  I’m not sure if I believe that we were all combined at one point as Greek mythology would say but I do believe that we were all made to search for “the one” who we would end up loving and being with in the end.  I believe we all go through experiences meeting many people and learning from them and also realizing that some of us are not compatible with each other. What do you guys think about this?

“According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.”

“…and when one of them meets the other half, the actual half of himself, whether he be a lover of youth or a lover of another sort, the pair are lost in an amazement of love and friendship and intimacy and one will not be out of the other’s sight, as I may say, even for a moment…”
