Chapter 7

I thought this chapter was interesting because it talks about segregation and discrimination, when I first hear these words I think about Africans Americans but I did not know that it was also common for Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans and Puerto Ricans especially in the nineteenth century when they were trying to have a common education for them. We can see that the education system is much different today because I believe that schools are not segregated because now in school we see every culture mixed in different classes. I say this because here at Baruch it’s known for one of the most diverse colleges.  Could different cultures affect school systems and students today? Do you think immigrant children are treated differently then American children in a class room setting?
