Chapter 14

This chapter was a very important one because it talks about everything we have discussed during class. I believe that Bilingual and ESL classes are very important today in America because America is full with immigrants and they would feel comfortable and not lost when learning a new subject in class. I have seen many young children go into a Bilingual or ESL class very lost and out of place but by the end of the school year they had become well English speakers. As reading this chapter I realized that it said that Hispanics, Asians, Native, and Africans are the ones that usually lack for an equal opportunity in the school system. Children that need special education also did not have an equal opportunity but it changed after World War II. As I have said in a past post I think if a child with special needs should not be placed in a different class room. They should put them all in class room and treat them the same. Do you think there should be a limit of Bilingual and ESL classes in every school in American? If there isn’t don’t you think more immigrants are going to come here for the American education?
