1. Telenovela:
Watching Telenovelas is more than entertainment for most Latin American families. I grow up watching them with my mom, my sister, and my aunts. That is the way we spend time together. From Monday to Friday, we all sit together from 9:00 to 10:00 pm in our living room to watch a Telenovela. This is one of our traditions, and we love it. I wonder if growing up watching Telenovelas affected my personality or beliefs. That is why I want to focus on research on
how Telenovelas reflect and affect Latin America norms, belief, traditions, and behaviors?
2.Jane The Virgin:
Every single one of my friends know how much I LOVE Jane The Virgin. It’s funny, dramatic, and smart. I love the excellent way they represent Latinos, how they present our most beloved customs, beliefs and other things, and most importantly: how they adapted the show to be bilingual. I enjoy every episode because they connect me to my roots funnily and theatrically. That’s why I would like to share with you:
How Jane the virgin reflect Latin American culture, at the same time is advocating for Latinos’ rights and reform the idea of what it means to be a Latino.
3.Law school:
One of my biggest dreams is to become a lawyer. I love justice, and I want to dedicate my life to defend it. I want to be a lawyer, but I know the pathway is not easy. That’s why I spend most of my free time searching information about all the steps needed to become a lawyer. I want to share my knowledge with my classmates with the hope that I may inspire them to become lawyers as well. I would like to let them know:
Why should a college graduate consider the idea of applying to law school and what are the steps needed to be accepted?
#StudyOrNetflix
To Netflix or to study? Thousands of students including myself, have asked this question more than once. As students we are often bombarded with exams, research projects, presentations and so on. It is only natural to want a break from all these responsibilities. This is where Netflix comes in. Where people can enjoy a show before returning to their studies. However, as we all know, Netflix is a slippery slope. Just one more episode can lead to a student missing their 11:49pm deadline by minutes.
How does a person decide when to study and when to Netflix? The answer is through Professor Fuzzlepants, the finals guinea pig. Professor Fuzzlepants took Twitter by storm through his cut throat #StudyOrNetflix trend; where he decided when students should study and when students should Netflix. He makes this difficult decision from a rectangular box. This box is split into two sides. One side of the box is marked Study, while the other side is marked Netflix. Whichever side of the box Professor Fuzzlepants occupies lies your answer.
Next time you’re in a jam and you don’t whether to Netflix or study listen to Professor Fuzzlepants.
