So far, my group has equally split the workload. Each of us was tasked to research information and credible sources for a different section of our Wikipedia topic which is Shaw v. Reno. America and I were responsible for researching the background of the case. This included more information about both the appellant and appellee, locations, dates, and events that led to the case. The current Wikipedia page has a “Factual Background” section and we plan to revise it by keeping some of the information we find necessary and adding our new findings.

I was nervous about the final product because I would have never thought I would be one of the many people who have contributed to a Wikipedia page. Before this project, I didn’t actually realize how easy it is for anyone to edit information on a Wikipedia page, but now I can say that I’ve edited a Wikipedia page. I hope my group’s changes to the page are contributing to the information provided about the case and not diminishing it. I believe in my group’s capabilities, so I shouldn’t be too worried about the final product. As a writer and learner, this project would teach me that Wikipedia may actually be a credible source since it is made up of several other sources.
