I’m hoping to center my writing around a couple of different websites and platforms. I want to write about social media apps (such as Snapchat) and how they have impacted me throughout the years. I would also like to incorporate streaming services such as Disney Plus into my digital literacy narrative but I am not yet sure how I will do this. Using Snapchat to stay in contact with friends introduced me to the use of discourse conventions in messaging. I learned more about these discourse conventions and became more digitally literate through social media. I plan on using the digital mediums I chose to explain different skills and practices. When talking about skills used in text messaging and online chatting, I will use examples from my experiences with Snapchat. To assess the development of my digital literacy, I will analyze the effect that social media has had on my lifestyle. By analyzing the pros and cons, I will be able to tell if my digital literacy has improved and how it has improved.
To talk about communication technology during the pandemic, I will explain my experiences with Zoom. Learning about and becoming proficient in the use of video calling applications and how they helped me advance my academic literacy.
My understanding of digital rhetoric and the knowledge I gain from our in-class discussions will help me measure the scope of my digital literacy development. I will be able to realize what I have learned and apply it in my narrative.

I think a lot of people connect to social media, especially since it is a main way people communicate with each other nowadays. Social media, as you said, plays a large role in our lives. Streaming services have also become a lot more popular. It seems, as though, cable is not really used anymore. Although everyone has started to use zoom, everyone’s relationship with zoom differs. It’s interesting how you will explain your relationship with zoom.
